UNEB to Release 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) Results Today
The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is set to release the results for the 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations today, marking a significant milestone in the country’s education system.
This year’s results carry additional importance as they include the outcomes of the first cohort of students who followed the newly introduced Lower Secondary Curriculum (NLSC). Alongside these, the final results from students examined under the previous curriculum (Transitional Examination) will also be announced.
The official release ceremony will take place at State House Nakasero, presided over by Uganda’s Minister for Education and Sports, Mama Janet K. Museveni. The event is scheduled to start at 11:00 AM today, with invited guests required to arrive by 9:00 AM to adhere to security protocols.
After the official release, students, parents, and the public can access the results through various channels:
- SMS Service: To obtain results via SMS, candidates need to send a message to 6600. The format is “UCE [space] [index number].” For example:
- For Transitional Curriculum Candidates: Index numbers for these candidates end with “T” (e.g., U0000/001T). This “T” should be included when sending the SMS.
- For New Curriculum Candidates: Standard index numbers apply (e.g., Uo000/001).
- Schools: Institutions will be able to access the results through their online portals as soon as the Minister announces the release.
This year’s UCE results not only reflect the academic achievements of thousands of candidates but also provide a key point of comparison between the old and new curricula, shedding light on the impact of the recent educational reforms in Uganda.
For further information or to begin the results retrieval process, visit the official UNEB website or use the SMS service as outlined above.
