The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results for the year 2024 have been officially released and are now accessible online. Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba made the announcement on January 9, 2025, at a press briefing held at Mitihani House in Nairobi. This milestone covers the academic performance of 962,512 candidates who participated in the national examination last year, marking a significant moment in their educational journeys.
To access the 2024 KCSE results, candidates are required to follow these simple steps:
- Visit the KNEC Portal: Open your web browser and navigate to the official Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) results portal at results.knec.ac.ke.
- Input Your Details: Enter your index number and the name as per your official registration details for the KCSE 2024 examination.
- Submit Information: Double-check the details entered for accuracy and submit the information.
- View Your Results: Once your details are verified, your KCSE results will be displayed on the screen.
- Collect Official Result Slips: For formal documentation, visit the examination center where you sat for the KCSE to obtain your official result slip.
Unlike in previous years, the option to check KCSE results via SMS has been discontinued. This marks a move towards an exclusively digital platform, ensuring a more streamlined and efficient process for students to access their results. The KNEC portal serves as a reliable and user-friendly system, eliminating the delays and challenges often associated with other methods.
The Education Cabinet Secretary highlighted the significance of the KCSE examination as a critical step in the academic and professional development of Kenya’s youth. By making the results readily accessible online, the Ministry of Education underscores its commitment to embracing digital innovation to enhance service delivery and transparency.
As candidates access their results, attention now shifts to their next steps, whether it be further education, vocational training, or other career pathways. With the results available online, students and their families can make informed decisions quickly and effectively, ensuring a smooth transition to the next phase of their lives.
